I Made a Rainbow Cake!

Yes I finally made a rainbow cake!

There was some good and some bad

but all and all a pretty decent out come

First you have to separate the batter six cups

Then you add food coloring to make your rainbow colors

You have to make red the most and and purple the least because it goes last

Next you add the red first and then follow with the other colors

It looks like a rainbow bullseye

Frosting rrrrrrr.....

Well I was following the fancy Martha Stewart recipe for Carmel Butter Cream Frosting

I got up to making the caramel and starting the frosting then I mixed to ingredients to soon

Then there was not going back I tried to fix it and made it worst.

Luckily my mom add a can of pre-made frosting and saved the day

Since i had homemade caramel I just mixed that into the frosting

The frosting was OK, Dave liked it but I thought the caramel was to bitter and over powering

Even with the unperfected frosting the cake still came out good

It looks really pretty and I can't wait to try it again

More Warhol's

This is the drawing I chose to do for my Visual Presentation

Its called Ice Cream Dessert

Warhol created this in 1959

His style of drawing is very similar to mine

I believe this is a fruit bowl

aren't these amazing!

the design in the cones is precious

they are very stylized and I love it

the colors attract me too

I think this is from his sketch book but i'm not sure

I enjoy how the cake seems to falling over from the 

unusual placement of the layers of cake

this appears to be a "basket cake"

Post Cards are In

My Post Cards are In. 

They're glossy which I really like, I wish my business cards were glossy too

I know for next time.

I got them from Vistaprint.com I was happy with the quality since the price was cheap

It was only $20.00 for 100 postcards & thats with color front and back 

(color on the back was an extra $4.00) 

Also shipping was cheap if you wait 21 days.

I did that and they came in less then a week

It was great. I defiantly would order from them again

I Want to Make a Rainbow Cake

I tried to make this once with my best friend Carolynne but we use the "Big Cupcake" mold from as seen on TV

We put to much batter in it and it exploded haha.

I want to re-try it with a regular cake pan and see what happens

The photo above is separated cake batter in cups with food coloring added

After you do this you pore them in separately, into a cake pan

Then bake like a regular cake

These are not my photos I found them when I was searching for photos of rainbow cakes on Google

It looks pretty good! 

I defiantly want to do this!

I hope it tastes as good as it looks

This would make a great painting, for my final painting for the cover of my book i will be creating a 

"color wheel cake" its going to to rainbow slices of cake

Bubble Gum Fun: Maurizio Savini

I fell into this artist while searching for reference of butter.

The Artist's name is Maurizio Savini. 

He mades these amazing sculpture out of bubble gum.

They're really fun and colorful, & their my favorite color pink!

Here is My Orange Sherbet Painting.

I'm adding more texture to the the cone and eventually adding more to the ice-cream scoops

I haven't decided exactly what kind of texture I will add

This isn't the best quality photo because I took it with Photo Booth

Re-edited Final Self Portrait

I did a couple slight edits to this piece after talking to Jerry

I added another highlight in the face and smudged the lips

I also darkened the hands and touched up my noise

I think the edits really improved this piece

I'm very happy with the final result!
