Graduation Cake

Graduation cake.
I didn't make it my parents bought it at Jacques Cakes in Suncook, NH.
I was looking for an art college graduate cake and nothing from their selection fit, then I saw this palette cake and fell in love with it!

The flavor was yellow cake with lemon frosting, it was delicious!

I love the paint splatter

Graduation Diploma Cupcakes

I Just graduated from New Hampshire Institute of Art & I am having a graduation party this weekend!
What better thing to do than make graduation cupcakes?!
I found this idea in the Martha Stewart Cupcake Cook book.
She did different flavors but I used her idea of creating cookie diplomas

The cookie is made from a egg white, flour, vanilla, and sugar mixture.
You use a template and spread it out thin.
As soon as it comes out of the oven you roll them.
I burned my fingers a couple times, it wasn't easy! haha

I used candy bands for the diploma ribbon.

These cupcakes are made from a  Devil's Food Cake recipe
& topped with Bitter Sweet Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting.
It is very rich and bitter.

Preview Party

It finally came!
The Preview Party was amazing!
Derek & I made 50 pink cupcakes that the guests loved.
They were gone in the matter of minutes.
Here I am standing in front of my gallery space holding my book.
I received a lot of positive feed back not only about my tasty cupcakes but about my paintings too!

My parents and I.
Without them I wouldn't be where I am today.
Love you!

Pre-Preview Party Photo.
Taken by my friend Kim who also did my lovely make up.
She's amazing!

Made Some Jewelry Today

This is my first time making Jewelry and now I think i'm addicted!
It was very fun and creative.
My best friend Carolynne and I went to "Bead it" in Concord, NH
to create some jewelry.

Sparkles are my thing so I wanted to do a sparkly necklace and my favorite colors are pink and green.
So I wanted to incorporate that into my creation. I like to wear light shades of pink and green,
so that it is not too over powering since they are compliments.

I chose all clear refracting beads for my necklace.
Whatever you will wear it will reflect on to the beads.

Earrings, I just did the same colored beads and kept it simple.
I love the looped earring clasps.
They are really easy to take on and off and they won't fall of your ears and get lost.

I usually loop them together when i'm done wearing them, so that I can't loose them.
